Jay Datema has an MBA from Binghamton University (2007), a Masters in Library and Information Science from Dominican University (1999), and a BA in Literature from Wheaton College (1995). He has worked as a reference librarian at Mann Library, Cornell University; as product and project manager at Ovid Technologies; as a systems librarian and digital project developer at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Library and Archives; as technology editor for Library Journal; as an application developer for The New York Public Library; as associate director at the Bern Dibner Library and Archives at Polytechnic Institute of NYU, and as director of library services for the Metropolitan College of New York. He was editor of NISO's Information Standards Quarterly and recently, he worked for Cambridge University Press as web delivery manager. Currently, he is head of the health sciences library, Stony Brook University. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
